WHY SO SERIOUS ? ….

This year would be a SuperHeroes Movie Year with all good and bad superheroes movies lined-up to try and break the Box Office Record. But one thing for sure, all of them couldn’t match the enthusiasm of the movie-goers for the next upcoming movie of BATMAN series in a title of Dark Knight. Batman vs Joker is like ‘lagu’ and ‘irama’ or Tom and Jerry that we can’t separate its. (for a good or a bad cause)

The x-factor for this movie is it arrives in a blaze of publicity of the most unfortunate kind, caused by the untimely death of Heath Ledger in January 2008 suspected of ‘overdosed’. The star was chosen to play the super-villain the Joker after the director Christopher Nolan admired his “lack of vanity” in Film of Brokeback Mountain, and his total absorption into the role of the gay cowboy. Some speculated, after Ledger’s accidental overdose on prescription pills, that the absorption went too far.

This Joker is, in Ledger’s words, a “psychopathic, mass murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy”, far removed from Jack Nicholson’s Cheshire Cat portrayal in the 1989 blockbuster. To achieve the necessary mental dislocation, Ledger spent a month alone in a hotel room, working on his character, his voice, and an unhinged cackle that sends a shiver up the spine. His inspirations included A Clockwork Orange and Pete Doherty, and his slowly decaying make-up, with a livid red lipstick slash and heavily blacked-out eyes, make him look like some doomed indie-Gothic junkie-poet.

Michael Caine, who again plays Batman’s butler Alfred, said Ledger’s performance was so frightening he sometimes forgot his lines. Christian Bale, who plays Batman, found a kindred spirit – another actor prepared to undergo an extreme mental and physical transformation for his roles.

From the fussed around and the trailer and comment from the early screening and other clips I would say this Dark Knight Movie will completely isn’t just the best Batman movie ever made, this is one of the best movie ever made.

A guy from Netherland who watched the Pre-Screening for this movie said this.

Bale marvels as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Ledger has made The Joker in to an iconic movie villain. His performance belongs there at the top with Hopkins’ Hannibal Lecter”. The Joker has finally been portrait properly on film, He has earned his place between the big boys in movie villandom. This is the true Joker every Batman fan knows, loves and fears. Ledger deserves any and every movie award known to man for this brilliant display.

Nolan (the Director) has made his “I will always be remembered” movie, this is the crown jewel in his portfolio. Perfect directing, perfect story, perfect balance between action and drama, everything is perfect.

For one thing for sure, even if you hate Batman, you will love this film.

So, please don’t forget this date : 17th July 2008 (MOVIE PREMIERE)

Is this the end of the political saga or we still have to wait in 2010 to happen?. For whatever reason, i still think that more important issue for now is to reduce the price of consumer items and for me if we have to change the government, let it be- pinjam kata-kata The Beatles.

The news nowdays are more towards the political stories.. and more people keen to close to political figures. Simple example was last night Majlis Penutup Tilawah Al-Quran Peringkat Kebangsaan at Kedah where more ‘pembesar negeri’ and ‘bapak-bapak exco’ or maybe ‘menteri besar’ came when Pak Lah officiated the event compard to last night closing ceremony by Sultan of Kedah.

In other words – NAMPAK SANGAT NAK BODEK atau berkepentingan politik dengan PAK LAH

KOTA KINABALU: The two Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) MPs will support Pakatan Rakyat’s notice of a motion of no-confidence against the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

In a joint statement e-mailed to the media, Sepanggar MP Datuk Eric Enchin Majimbun and Tawau MP Datuk Dr Chua Soon Bui said their action was in line with the party’s June 18 announcement that it had lost confidence in the Prime Minister.

“We reiterate SAPP’s loss of confidence in the Prime Minister and the need for urgent government measures to address issues on Sabah rights and current concerns (fuel and food prices hike) plaguing the state,” they said in the statement.

SAPP president Datuk Yong Teck Lee had said earlier this week that the party was putting on hold its intention to move the no-confidence motion on grounds of inflammatory and threatening statements from some government leaders.

Yong had said that the statements included veiled threats of bloodshed uttered in Parliament by the Kota Belud MP.

The prospect that two non-Malay MPs from SAPP were going to bring a Malay Prime Minister into disrepute was an excuse by those who uttered racist threats, he said.

Now that a motion of no-confidence is being proposed by a Malay MP, Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, the race factor was eased, the statement said without any reference to Abdullah’s announcement of a transition of power by mid-2010.

I think this should be a BIG sign for MIC to review their organisation for good.

—————————————————————————-

KUALA LUMPUR: The dinner to mark the eve of the MIC’s annual general meeting today was marred by delegates walking out earlier than scheduled. This is the first time that such a dinner ended abruptly – half an hour before it was supposed to.

Furious at the exit of the delegates from the Putra World Trade Centre’s Dewan Tun Razak, a seemingly annoyed Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu left the function at 9.55pm.Earlier, the former works minister tried to cajole the delegates to stay back.

“Please come back and have your dinner. We spent so much of money organising the dinner,” he told them.Later, Samy Vellu gave a short speech and even sang a song.“If you (delegates) think this function is a waste of time, then I apologise,” said the party president before leaving.

About 2,800 delegates comprising party branch leaders attended the dinner reception which was scheduled to end at 10.30pm.Former party deputy president Datuk S. Subramaniam said Samy Vellu was “hurt by the delegates’ action – they were chatting among themselves and not paying attention to the cultural show that was going on”.

It is understood that Samy Vellu’s ire started with party information chief Datuk M. Saravanan leaving the function hall at 8.45pm, after having stayed for about 15 minutes. When contacted, Saravanan, who is the Deputy Federal Territory Minister, confirmed that he had left early.

“I walked out as there was no protocol at the dinner,” he told The Star.

He added that he was cheesed off because Subramaniam was seated at the main table with the other MIC leaders and prominent Indian businessmen.

“As the party’s information chief and Deputy Minister, I was not given due respect.

“I don’t know on what basis Subramaniam was given prominence. He is just the division leader,” he said.

What a big news to start a weekend with our squash princess will be crowned with “Datukship” today by Yang DiPertua Negeri of Penang. With this pingat, I am looking forward to hear Liz Irving gives instruction to her by saying ‘Datuk Nicol’ during her training session.

By the way, I think giving this to Nicol is much more worth it compare to some artists whom i think don’t deserve at all (some of them are ‘follower’ of other establish genre and not trully bringing Malaysia to the world).
