Malaysia only hope and Men’s Singles World No. 2 Lee Chong Wei cruised past World No. 5 Sony Dwi Kuncoro of Indonesia in their quarterfinal clash on August 14.
The match was surprisingly easy for Lee. Making great use of his services, he finished the first game 21-9 with a stylish 7-0 run. Dwi Kuncoro was nowhere near his normal athletic pace in the match. He was beaten again in the second game, 21-11.
In the semifinal on August 14, Lee will face either World No. 3 Bao Chunlai of China or World No. 10 Lee Hyun-il of the Republic of Korea.
