“Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!”

ADAKAH SEMUA YANG TERTULIS DI ATAS membolehkan kita menganggap KITA SUDAH MERDEKA?. Tepuk dada dan tanyalah hati masing-masing.

MERDEKA!… KEMERDEKAAN SEJATI…. TOTAL KEMERDEKAAN melalui “MERDEKA DARI PENINDASAN DAN KEZALIMAN”

PILIHLAH PAKATAN RAKYAT.

After our Squash Princess,  Datuk Nicol Ann David, Penang will award a Datukship to badminton singles player Lee Chong Wei, 26, who won the silver medal at the Beijing Olympics recently. This is quite ‘BIG’ achievement for LCW since he’s yet to become gold medallist or capture other most prestigous medal in Badminton like Olympic, World Championship, Thomas Cup winner or All England Championship.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas would confer the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN), which carries the title Datuk, on Lee on Aug 30. He said Chong Wei had done not only Penang but also Malaysia proud with his achievement.

p/s: I wonder the support behind his success or other player as they also deserved something . ie MIsbun, Rexy or Yap Kim Hock

FINALLY, England coach Fabio Capello has named John Terry as the national team’s new permanent captain. Terry had been vying with central defensive partner Rio Ferdinand for the role, with Capello opting to keep faith with the Chelsea defender.

During Steve McClaren’s ill-fated stint in charge of England, Terry was captain after replacing David Beckham in the job following the 2006 World Cup. Since succeeding McClaren as coach, though, Capello has been rotating the armband during his four friendlies at the helm.

Steven Gerrard had been skipper in Capello’s opening match against Switzerland before Ferdinand led the team out against France.Terry was given his chance to impress against the United States at the end of last season before Beckham took on the role against Trinidad & Tobago.

However, Terry and Ferdinand had always been regarded as front-runners for the position, with the Manchester United defender reportedly the favourite.Ferdinand, though, will be Terry’s vice-captain after Capello confirmed his decision ahead of Wednesday’s friendly against Czech Republic at Wembley.

I don’t know if this statement by PKR vice president  will turn the tables to the DSAI camp or not. If is true, then all(PR) will be blessed with supports BUT if this just Pilihanraya Talk, then RAKYAT will get fed-up with the lousy statement and subsequently few other promises by PR camp will be looked just a ‘omong-omong kosong’ .

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan has claimed that 13 Sabah members of parliament will cross over to the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) if PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wins the Permatang Pauh by-election next Tuesday.

He also claimed that the 13 MPs had met with him and expressed their support for Anwar.

“We speak the truth. I am talking about the 13 MPs who will join Pakatan Rakyat after Anwar wins this (Permatang Pauh) by-election… they are just waiting (to crossover),” he told reporters after delivering a talk in Jalan Berapit here last night.

Jeffrey said two of the MPs were from the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and the rest from Umno.

The PR needs at least 30 more MPs to be able to form the federal government. Sabah has 24 Barisan Nasional (BN) MPs.

Anwar is involved in a three-corner fight for the Permatang Pauh seat, vacated on July 31 by his wife and PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to enable Anwar become an MP. The BN has fielded Seberang Jaya state assemblyman Datuk Arif Shah Omar Shah. The third candidate is Hanafi Mamat of Angkatan Keadilan Insan Malaysia (Akim).

The 22-year-old Spaniard, who had been No 2 behind Federer for 160 of those weeks, has had an incredible season.

He became the first man since Bjorn Borg in 1980 to win the French Open and Wimbledon titles in the same year, winning at the All England Club for the first time in a classic five-set clash with Federer.

He underlined his current dominance of the game with Olympic gold in Beijing on Sunday and will now turn his sights on the US Open, which begins a week today.

“Nowhere in my best dreams I can imagine something like what I did this year,” Nadal said after his Olympic victory.

“I am playing an unbelievable season, no doubt. I have to be very happy for everything.

“The feeling for sure is very happy for being number one, but the feeling doesn’t change too much because the last years I did very well too.

“It is a satisfaction… I want to enjoy these two days probably, but later I have to be focused on New York.”

The Majorcan has won eight ATP titles this season and has a 70-8 record.
