Deputy Education Minister Datuk Razali Ismail died at the Aminuddin Baki Institute in Genting Highlands at about 6.30pm Friday. It is believed that Razali, 59, who is the Member of Parliment for Kuala Terengganu, collapsed while playing badminton at the institute.

Razali, from Kuala Berang, Hulu Terengganu, obtained his Bachelor’s degree in history from Universiti Malaya and then did his Masters in education at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. He started his career as a teacher at Sekolah Menengah Tengku Ampuan Intan, Kuala Berang in 1974 and three years later was a lecturer at the Pasir Panjang Teachers’ College here.

Prior to being appointed as Terengganu Education Director in 2001 and then promoted to head the Teachers’ Education Division at the Education Ministry two year later, Razali had also served as principal of the Kuala Terengganu Teachers’ College and also at the Batu Rakit Teachers’ College.

He left government service when selected to become the Barisan Nasional candidate for the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary seat and won by a 1,933 vote-majority against PAS’ Dr Syed Azman Syed Ahmad Nawawi in the 2004 general election. In the last general election, he defeated Mohamed Sabu, from PAS, by a 628 vote-majority to retain the parliamentary seat.

Having meeting in KLCC after so many months. Actually i should attend the meeting in KLCC almost every month but due to my wife just delivered IKMAL, it’s pity for her to take care those ‘little creatures’ alone. So I passed-on to my friend and (makes some good excused) so that my boss have to attend.

Actually I’m writing this entry in my hotel room, ie Hotel Maya. This hotel quite impressive with spacious room, bigger washroom compared to Mandarin Oriental and what i like most is Coffee Maker in every room. Last night I borrowed DVD from hotel and watch movie ’300′ .. anyway just halfway since the ‘keletihan’ made me slept early.

Ohh.. i shouldn’t miss this news on MUMBAI terror attacked. CNN makes full coverage on this and it’s pity when you see that Inter-Religion most prone country have to face this. I am sure that India goverment will control the situation and it’s also sad for me that western (France actually) newspaper headlines showing that ISLAMIST and not TERRORIST responsibles for this but for me TERRORIST and ISLAMIST are two different things. So, Islamist is Islamist and Terrorist cann’t be Islamist since islam do not teach on Terror.

So that’s all for now and actually I’ve to rush back to Kerteh this afternoon to attend my eldest daughter full rehearsal Smart Reader Concert Day. See you then.

One out of three…

I don’t know whether do you believe or not but an approximately one third of the workforce in the country is foreign, the Home Minister Syed Hamid told Parliament today. According to him, currently we have between 2.1 to 2.2 million foreign workers and this means out of 9 million workers, 25 per cent are foreign.

He also added that this did not include illegal immigrant workers, which he said stands at 1.2 million. This means that there are more than 3.3 million foreign workers in Malaysia.

This is a marked increase from the beginning of the year when then Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Bakar said that there were 2.01 million foreign workers and the government would halve the figure by 2015 which is Impossible for me to do.

Maybe from that 3.3 M figure, only 10 percent can we consider expatriate or the professional who helped Malaysia in catching-up the technology and the rest is blue collar worker especially plantation, construction and factory operator.

Can you imaging THAT MAYBE one day  FELDA, FELCRA, KESEDAR, KETENGAH or KEJORA  which are supposed to be BUMI periuk nasi will be owned by foreigner?… or our development halts because of no crane operator, no lorry hantu driver or no mason for architectual finishing works.. very scary ehhh
