Yesterday, I went to check the progress and quite happy since the cement screeding works for the whole floor are now in progress. Also noticed that the electrical wiring works are completed. Tak sabar for the tiling work to be started and from them, maybe the overall perspective of the house can be judged… lawa ke need uplifting..

Need to buy few items this weekend especially few units of Panasonic 4-leafs ceiling fan and few units of 6″ dia. downlights. Expects the damage around 1k only this time. Since I’ll be in KLCC this Thursday and Friday, hopefully I’ll have time to buy thats in KL and make a quick recce at IKEA also..

People keep asking me when will be a  House Warming Session. InsyaAllah, looking at current pace of progress, the overall construction works will be completed within this 2-3 weeks and  maybe on 25th Dec, which is also my Wedding Anniversary day is quite significant day for me to move-in . Yeah… only after 5th year of married, only now I can have my own house…

Takpe la …. biar lambat asal ada..

A top 10 of irritating expressions has been compiled by researchers at Oxford University. Heading the list was the expression ‘at the end of the day’, which was followed in second place by the phrase ‘fairly unique’. The tautological statement “I personally” made third place – an expression that BBC Radio 4 presenter John Humphreys has described as “the linguistic equivalent of having chips with rice.” Also making the top 10 is the grammatically incorrect “shouldn’t of”, instead of “shouldn’t have”.

The phrases appear in a book called Damp Squid, named after the mistake of confusing a squid with a squib, a type of firework. The researchers who compiled the list monitor the use of phrases in a database called the Oxford University Corpus, which comprises books, papers, magazines, broadcast, the internet and other sources.

The database alerts them to new words and phrases and can tell them which expressions are disappearing. It also shows how words are being misused. As well as the above expressions, the book’s author Jeremy Butterfield says that many annoyingly over-used expressions actually began as office lingo, such as 24/7 and “synergy”. Other phrases to irritate people are “literally” and “ironically”, when they are used out of context.

Mr Butterfield said: “We grow tired of anything that is repeated too often – an anecdote, a joke, a mannerism – and the same seems to happen with some language.”

The top ten most irritating phrases:

1 – At the end of the day

2 – Fairly unique

3 – I personally

4 – At this moment in time

5 – With all due respect

6 – Absolutely

7 – It’s a nightmare

8 – Shouldn’t of

9 – 24/7

10 – It’s not rocket science

ME as a doughnut fan. Nope since i took a bite of Big Apple’s doughnuts that I believe that I am now, well and truly, doughnut lover. Big Apple’s  doughnuts are simply sweet, fluffy and light. Usually i get this either at TESCO Kota Bharu or East Coast Mall at Kuantan but recent development in Kerteh area brings Big Apple just 5 minutes’ away from my door-step. People buy them by the dozens and order the different flavours in twos and threes and then pay for a stack of boxes filled with six or a dozen doughnuts in each of those boxes. The Price RM11.50 for six, RM21.00 for a dozen and If you buy one, it’s RM2.20 a piece.

Petrol and diesel will be sold 15sen cheaper per litre from Tuesday onwards following the Government’s decision to lower fuel prices in tandem with the downward trend of global oil prices. The pump price of RON97 petrol will be RM2 a litre from RM2.15 while the retail price of RON92 petrol and diesel is RM1.90 a litre. The new prices are effective from midnight Monday.
