Kuala Terengganu Umno division chief Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh appears to have fallen out of the race to stand in that parliamentary constituency by-election following his selection as senator representing the East Coast state for a second term.

Others said to be considered as Umno candidate include division deputy chief Mohd Sabri Alwi, state Umno information chief Datuk Zuber Embong and treasurer Senator Datuk Roslan Awang Chik.

Posibble candidate for PAS will be either Mat Sabu or Dr Sy Azman.

Calon Bebas, we have more possiblity here with Maimun Yusof or Tok Mun,  a scrap rubber dealer, Isma Airfath Hassanuddin, who has already taken nomination forms to contest as an independent candidate and another potential candidate is Hanafi Mamat, who leads a Pas splinter group and had contested in the Permatang Pauh by-election only to lose his deposit.

My two cents thot;  Mat Sabu vs New Rookie from BN

Last but not least is maybe for the last resort; UMNO just nominate Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh (Because BN wanted him to be appointed as MInister)

Abis barang lain naik buat semua merana

Pi mai pi mai tang tu

masa naik bukan main laju

masa turun……..

sampai kaki ni dah naik kematu

Buat Dato Shahril dan juga Pak Lah

Tak usah anda berdua berlengah-lengah

Kalau ada niat nak tolong orang susah

Turunkan lagi harga dah tentu berfaedah

InsyaAllah

Bernama has reported that Cuepacs President,  Omar Osman said Civil servants will be able to accumulate up to 150 days of their leave for their gold-en handshake beginning next year. He added that he was informed about the longer golden handshake by the Director-General of the Public Service Department, Tan Sri Ismail Adam, at a meeting here yesterday.

The golden handshake is the cash in lieu annual leave accumulated that civil servants will receive upon retirement.  Currently, a maximum of 15 days leave can be accumulated annually for the golden handshake up to 120 days. Recently, government’s decision to reduce the annual leave for new employees from 30 days to 25 days beginning next year.

This is a very good news to all Civil Servants compares to private sector or even GLC workforces. I am working in GLC company but my annual leave only 15 days per year for first 5 years of service in company. Golden Handshake Option; ‘jauh panggang dari api’.

PAS will decide on the candidate in the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election at its central committee meeting on Dec 21. Its deputy president, Nasharuddin Mat Isa said however, the name would be announced at a later date. PAS Terengganu liaison committee will submit three names to the central committee for consideration based on the recommendation from the division, he told reporters after chairing a meeting to discuss the by-election here today. The by-election has been fixed for Jan 17, with its nomination day set to fall on Jan 6. Nasharuddin, who is also the by-election director, said names had yet to be forwarded to the liaison committee for consideration.

Kuala Terengganu Parlimentary seat which is vacants following the death of Datuk Razali Ismail, while playing badminton at Institut Aminuddin Baki in Genting Highlands last Friday will be an assesment on how rakyat Terengganu evaluate BN government and also on how CM Datuk Ahmad Said runs the Terengganu.

On Friday, the Election Commission (EC) has fixed nomination for the by-election on Jan 6 next year and polling on Jan 17, in the event of a contest. On the polling date, he said the EC fixed the date in view of the weather condition in the state felt that if polling were to be held this month, it could be marred by bad weather.

As we all know that Kuala Terengganu Parlimentary Seat is not a safe seat for either BN or the opposition, as it has changed hands many times. BN won in 1986, 1990, 2004 and 2008, but Semangat 46 won in 1995 and PAS won in 1999. So this by election could be an interesting one and will be unlikely as Permatang Pauh which  we could say as ‘berat sebelah’ on PKR.

Furthermore, there are a lot of issues has been raised before and after 12th General Election and to make this by-election more interesting is some of the issues were been raised at KT or on Datuk Ahmad Said administration. The list below which I personnally think will be a vital point for this by Election (note: this issue are from local newspaper and I did not include on the rumours or khabar angin) :-

  1. Mercedes as replacement for Proton Perdana.(This will be main issue for sure)
  2. Development on Pulau Duyung.
  3. Land Issue
  4. Masjid Kg Bujal (again.. i think)
  5. Protester been shot at Batu Burok.
  6. Monsoon Cup ( We can’t run from this)
  7. Giant Supermarket at MESRA MALL
  8. Internal issue on UMNO ( Geng Ahmad Said and Idris Jusoh).
  9. Environmental issue at K Berang
  10. Inflation and Harga Barang Naik…  Semestinya on this issue…
  11. Orang Luar dan Orang Tempatan ( if PAS still nominates Ahmad Sabu)
That’s all and as for now, ‘deman pilihanraya’ at KT still ‘suam-suam kuku’ because of monsoon season. Will be back with more news and surely not ‘khabar-khabar angin’.
Chiooow.
