it is looks like a movie … Suspected Jemaah Islamiah leader Noordin Mat Top is still alive.
The DNA test carried out on a bullet-riddled body taken from a remote house in Temman gung in Central Java on Saturday did not match that of the most wanted and notorious figure whom many believe to be responsible for a spate of bombings in Jakarta. Malaysian police were informed of the DNA test results by their Indonesian counterpart.
It is learnt the police had assisted Indonesian police in obtaining DNA samples from Noordin’s children in Johor. Sources said the Malaysian police would continue to assist their Indonesian counterpart in tracking Noordin down. Indonesian anti-terrorism commandos thought they had killed Noordin following a stand-off and shoot-out.
They believed it was Noordin as the house was wired with explosives, which bore his trademark. Noordin, 40, one of Asia’s most wanted men, is listed as a leader of the Jemaah Islamiah regional terror network blamed for the 2002 Bali attacks which killed 202 people and the two hotel bombings in Jakarta several weeks ago.
So near but yet so far…
