Cerita 1:

Sembahyang tak susah, ikut je apa imam buat” pesan imam.

Allahu akhbar.

Tiba-tiba imam gatal telinga. Garu telinga.

Makmum pun semua garu telinga.

Imam gatal tekak, terbatuk la imam.

Makmum pun turut batuk-batuk.

Nak jadi cerita, lipas lalu atas kaki imam. Imam pun hentakkan kaki, nak halau lipas.

Makmum pun masing-masing hentakkan kaki.

Selesai sembahyang, lalu seorang makmum bertanya imam,

“Imam, tadi takpa ke saya tak hentak kaki, sebab kaki saya naik puru….”

Cerita 2.

Imam baca ayat Quran dengan begitu lantang dan merdu, tetapi tiba-tiba tersalah baca….

Lalu makmum di belakang imam tegur,

“Salah tu mam….bukan macam tu”

Makmum di sebelah mencelah,

“Betul…betul…betul….”

Makmum yang lain menyampuk,

“Woi, dalam sembahyang mana boleh cakap, batal !”

Bersuara makmum lain,

“Nasib baik aku tak cakap”

Yang lain menyampuk,

“Cakap jugak tu”

Lagi makmum bersuara,

“Batal semua, aku sorang tak….”

Makmum yang dari tadi diam pun bersuara jugak,

“Bukan macam tu cara tegur imam daa…..”

CAP (Consumer Association of Penang) advise all consumers who shall refrain from eating dried cuttlefish (sotong kering)  as it is contaminated with a highly toxic metal known as cadmium. CAP president S.M. Mohamed Idris said random tests conducted on cuttlefish samples found that the level of cadmium exceeded the safety standard. According to CAP, the amount of cadmium detected in the samples tested ranged from 0.33 to 4.33 parts per million (ppm) when the Food Regulations 1985 states that it should not exceed 1.00 ppm.

He also added that in 2004 and 2006, out of nine dried cuttlefish and seafood samples, six were found to contain cadmium above the safety standard. For you out there Cadmium is used in galvanising and electroplating batteries, the manufacture of alloys, pigments and plastics, and in the stabilisation of phosphate fertilisers. Mohamed Idris added that it had been suggested that exposure to cadmium could result in an increased rate of breast and prostate cancers.

This information is very new to me. I have been consumed a lot of dried ‘sotong’ in those day when I went to Pasar Malam, Padang Bas at Kota Bharu (during ‘fly’ era in 90′s) . I knew that in Penang, they add this ‘sotong kering’ in their rojak and yong tau foo…

I don’t know about you but in Kelantan, they also called ‘THIS’ (pls refer below pict)  as ‘sotong kering’ which I think very hazardous to young fella or ‘anak-anak muda’………………………………………………….

Nota Kaki : Bra yang dijemur = sotong kering …. ( in Kelantan)
