Recently I did my presentation to our Readers’ Club and I talked about a book by Robin Sharma, The Greatness Guide. Actually I really want to recommend this book for you out there especially if you have or facing office dirty politic. Saying that, i am very fortunate because, I’ve yet to encounter any of that in my present workplace and hopefully will last till i move to another subsidiary….
This book is about how we should enjoy our personal life and our career/working life. There are 101 guide for you to become great to yourself, your famiy and to your surrounding. If I have to judge this book, then I am pleased to give it 9 out of 10. So, all of you out there, please get this book and I am sure this book will not dissapoint you…
Ok .. back to our subject which is BE A ROCK STAR AT YOUR WORK…. (actually this also one of the guide in that book). What’s that mean with this phrase is we should give my full enthuasism during our works. in other word, you have to be wildly passionate about your TO DO’s , being breathtakingly commited to your big project or assignment and take or ride on every opportunity.
Actually, work gives us meaning to our lives. It influences our self worth in this world. Then, we have to remember that that if we do our best in our works, then it will all come back to us. In other words, being great in what you do isn’t just something that you do for your organisation that you work for but also for YOU – it’s like a gift to yourself.
Can you imagine, how do you feel when you have ultra-productive day? or How do you feel when you’re given yur best, had fun with your teammates/colleagues? .. or you’re gone to extra mile fro your client/boss/customer/subordinates etc…or How do you feel when you reached for your greatest goals and grabbed them?..
For all of the above .. I am really really sure that it make you feels pretty good, doesn’t it?
(and above all you dont need the biggest title to do best job… either your are cleaner, manager, exec, technician or even clerk, i am sure you can practice this …)
SO…….. be a ROCK STAR at work today. Walk onto the stage on this day and play your heart out. GIve the performance of your life… WOW the audiences and give your best to get them cheering for you…
