Spain is World Champion

12 Jul 2010 In: FIFA World Cup 2010

FINALLY …..

World Cup Final.

My wife, ikhwan and ikmal woke up to be with their Baba watching the World Cup final. Eventhough, they stay-up just only for few moment sebelum boozing again, its make my tired eyes still open until the final whistle.

OK LAH, AKU TAK NAK CITER LANGSUNG PASAL GAME FINAL TU.. {sebab korang boleh baca berita internet atau baca blog-blog yang ramai penulis/pengkritik bola yang hebat-hebat belaka kat sana tuh.}

So, after about 5 mingggu penuh dengan aktiviti BOLA dan selepas 64 matches, apa yang paling significant sekali buat kamu ?

For me hanya 2 sajer. PERTAMA : Vuvuzella …. KEDUA : Demam PAUL the Oracle Octopus

Drama King : Tersangat banyak, antaranya ……

Kisah England balik awal, france players tak nak turun training, Team juara bertahan, ITALY yang terpaksa balik awal, kisah HEBAT Diego Forlan, Germany dengan young players nyer,  Kisah Messi yang tanpa golnya, Maradona dengan perangainya, Korea Utara dengan kerja lombongnya, Samuel Etoo dengan Roger Millanya, kisah vuvuzella yang bunyi macam tebuannya, kisah new hero cam Mesut Ozil, Suarez, Honda, Muller, dan banyak lagi la cerita-cerita yang menarik sepanjang Piala Dunia ini berlansung.

Sebenarnya, my target in this world cup would be to watch all the games.. tapi mata yang sepet nih, tak lah sekeras mana pun ?

Sambil … all of you out there.. SOMETHING BIG IS COMING ON … you’d better get ready

…. IT’s RAMADHAN …

So… marilah kita sama-sama melafazkan doa ini…

) … so diharap teori domino akan terus menimpa Selangor.   Mr Devan masih seperti biasa .. kalah orang politik kalau bercakap .. tak ada kurang langsung …

Tapi Kelantan juga ada sedikit gawatnya .. .. dengar cerita Mat Yo tak dapat main .. tapi lom pasti lagi .. Barisan penyerang masih lagi seperti Team Spain … cuma mampu jaringkan 1-2 gol saja … bahagian bawah sudah mantop … tengah suam-suam kuku ( kadang-kadang OK dan kadang2 tak).. Coach pula macam tu lah .. komen lebih sikit, terus cakap ada orang nak rampas kuasa dia .. parah-parah … tapi sebab minat punya hal.. aku memang harapkan Kelantan menang besar ..

Jikalau dibandingkan orang ke 12 setiap pasukan (penonton la tu) .. semuanya sama saja dan mungkin geng Kelantan lebih sikit kot walaupun main kat Selangor .. kalau ikut position, ini pula seritanya :::::  keeper : Kelantan lagi Power  … Full back : Kelantan lagi Power .. Tengah : Sepatutnya Seri tapi sebab wak tong tak dapat main, jadi Kelantan ada sedikit advantage lah .. Attacker : Confirm selangor lagi kuat …  Coach :  K Devan lagi power sedikit compare ngan Sathia.

Jadi macam mana pengakhiran ceritanya esok ….

Kelantan cuba bangkit tapi attacker kurang power .. jadi penonton semakin bosan ..  Tiba-tiba, midfield Kelantan dapat idea baru … DAN SCORE GOALs ( aku sengaja taruk ’s’ kat belakang tu sebab aku punya prediction) ….

SELANGOR = 0

KELANTAN = 2

Hingga jumpa lagi

PETRONAS Fortune 500 ranking falls in 2010

9 Jul 2010 In: Ramblings

Huhu…… PETRONAS moved down in this year FORTUNE 500 ranking.

Malaysia’s biggest company, state energy firm Petronas falls to 107th position from 80th last in Fortune 500 ranking in 2010.  PETRONAS who revealed last week a 23.2 percent plunge in net profit for the fiscal year ended March 31 due to weak demand and low oil and gas prices. Petronas said its net profit was 40.3 billion ringgit (US$13 billion) compared with 52.5 billion ringgit a year earlier. Revenue fell 18 percent to 216.4 billion ringgit due to a contraction in product prices and lower sales volume. Petronas is Malaysia’s only Fortune 500 company and the country’s most profitable firm. It is also among Malaysia’s largest bond issuers.

There’re some (good/bad) points to share for this year Fortune 500 :

  • PETRONAS at no 107th in this year ranking.
  • PETRONAS is a 20th biggest company in Asia.
  • In the term of Most Profitable Company, PETRONAS at no 25th in world.
  • PETRONAS still the only company from Malaysia listed in Fortune 500
  • Singapore’s got two companies but their position are still far behind PETRONAS .. ( 300 +++ position)
  • PETRONAS is ahead of NOKIA, Microsoft, Dell, Goldman Sachs in this year Fortune 500 company ..

Cammon … PETRONAS … let’s climb back next year .. make us proud

URUGUAY

Prospects For Success: Boy that defence is tough. Two goals conceded thus far in five games, and one of those was Sulley Muntari’s long-range speculator that took Fernando Muslera (who despite looking like a small child, has been terrific thus far) by surprise. That defence could be severely weakened (more on that shortly), but the side is so well drilled that should their first-choice four not be available, the replacements will slot in easily enough.

Further up the field, Diego Forlan has been one of the players of the tournament thus far. Taking every set-piece, Forlan has showed that not only is he a top-class goal-scorer, he is a much more rounded player than the bumbling fool we remember from his Manchester United days. Often more or less playing in midfield, Forlan probes and passes and - when the opportunity arises - unleashes that thunderbolt shot which has caught a couple of keepers snoozing.

Prospects For Failure: While the intervention of his hands is the primary reason they are here, Luiz Suarez’s suspension is a big blow for the Uruguayans. Three goals in the tournament, the Ajax forward has spent the last month lurking around assorted back posts, generally making something of a nuisance of himself. It will be interesting to see who Oscar Tabarez picks as his replacement. Sebastian Abreu, he of cheeky penalty fame, is one candidate, but he’s not really the sort of speed merchant that is ideal against the sluggish Dutch defence. The rather nippier Sebastian Fernandez could well be an option, and he will be told to put his head down and run at Ooijer, Van Bronckhorst et al.

While Suarez’s absence isn’t ideal, the prospect of being without Diego Lugano is more of a problem. The Uruguay skipper limped out of the quarter-final, and looks doubtful for Tuesday. In his stead will probably be Andres Scotti, and anyone who saw his skittish performance against Ghana will fear for his prospects when faced with the Dutch forward line.

Key Men: It’s an obvious one, but Forlan has been at the heart of everything good about Uruguay. Lugano may have the captain’s armband, but Forlan has been the leader by example on the pitch. Also, good luck to Diego Perez, who will most likely be the man entrusted with looking after Wesley Sneijder.

HOLLAND

Prospects For Success: The curious thing about this Holland team is that they are on the brink of the World Cup final, but haven’t ever really looked totally convincing. The group games were dealt with efficiently enough, while they didn’t have to do that much to get past a limited Slovakia and they were lucky to escape only 1-0 down at half-time against Brazil. Therefore, the old ‘What will they be like when they play well’ argument springs to mind.

A more tangible reason to be cheerful is the presence of two of the finest attacking talents in the tournament. Bert van Marwijk could very easily have thrown Arjen Robben in from the start of the tournament, risking his fragile hamstrings in the hope that he would produce enough magic. Fortunately, Van Marwijk realised Robben must be handled carefully, and the benefits of that treatment are being shown now. And then they have Sneijder, a man capable of running games on his own and retaining possession like a master.

Prospects For Failure: The harsh may argue that Holland haven’t faced a decent team at the top of their game just yet. Brazil seemed to relax in the manner of a team who thought the game was won after Robinho’s goal, and then fall apart when they were even slightly pressured. Of course, one could equally argue that the Dutch forced Brazil into that particular corner, but it’s possible that their lack of real dominance thus far could bite them at some point.

In reality, their biggest problem is with the players who won’t/may not be available. Van Marwijk will be without both Nigel de Jong and Gregory van der Wiel for the semi-final, and in addition Joris Mathijsen could be missing. The centre-half was injured in the warm-up before the Brazil game, and it’s not clear whether he’ll be ready to return. Andre Ooijer will again take his place if required.

Either way, the Dutch will have a rather ponderous back line, with Mathijsen, Ooijer nor Johnny Heitinga providing what one would call electric pace. Could the Uruguayan triple-pronged attack cause them problems?

Key Men: While it’s clear that Sneijder, Robben and Robin van Persie hold the attacking threat, the Dutch will have to be solid at the back to cope with the Uruguayans. And perhaps the man with the most important job in Cape Town will be Mark van Bommel. Diego Forlan is nominally a striker, but has done much of his best work dropping deep, way behind Luiz Suarez and Edinson Cavani, so Van Bommel will need to keep an eye on the Atletico Madrid man. Especially since he’ll be without his regular partner in destruction in De Jong.

Klose downplays record chase

4 Jul 2010 In: FIFA World Cup 2010

Germany striker Miroslav Klose has said that he is more interested in winning the FIFA World Cup™ than smashing Ronaldo’s record goal tally.

Klose’s second-half brace helped complete a staggering 4-0 quarter-final win over Argentina in Cape Town today. It also allowed the 32-year-old to muscle into contention for the adidas Golden Boot by taking him on to four, and sees him join legendary Germany striker Gerd Muller on 14 in FIFA World Cup™ tournaments.

With two matches to play, including either the final or third-place play-off, Klose needs just a single goal to match Ronaldo, who took his tally to 15 when Brazil defeated Ghana four years ago. However, such individual accolades mean little to the Bayern Munich man, who continues to put the team first.

“I don’t know whether I am going to pass Ronaldo’s record, and I don’t really care,” he said. “I didn’t think about the record beforehand. I just wanted to win the game. I am more interested in what we do as a team. If we end this tournament winning the World Cup that would be far more important than any goals I score.”

Germany’s latest effort was perhaps even better than their 4-1 defeat of England in Bloemfontein last Sunday. “Argentina are a good side but we played as a team today,” said Klose. “We were excellent. Now we have two games left. If we win them both we will be world champions.”
