Having meeting in KLCC after so many months. Actually i should attend the meeting in KLCC almost every month but due to my wife just delivered IKMAL, it’s pity for her to take care those ‘little creatures’ alone. So I passed-on to my friend and (makes some good excused) so that my boss have to attend.

Actually I’m writing this entry in my hotel room, ie Hotel Maya. This hotel quite impressive with spacious room, bigger washroom compared to Mandarin Oriental and what i like most is Coffee Maker in every room. Last night I borrowed DVD from hotel and watch movie ’300′ .. anyway just halfway since the ‘keletihan’ made me slept early.

Ohh.. i shouldn’t miss this news on MUMBAI terror attacked. CNN makes full coverage on this and it’s pity when you see that Inter-Religion most prone country have to face this. I am sure that India goverment will control the situation and it’s also sad for me that western (France actually) newspaper headlines showing that ISLAMIST and not TERRORIST responsibles for this but for me TERRORIST and ISLAMIST are two different things. So, Islamist is Islamist and Terrorist cann’t be Islamist since islam do not teach on Terror.

So that’s all for now and actually I’ve to rush back to Kerteh this afternoon to attend my eldest daughter full rehearsal Smart Reader Concert Day. See you then.

“failure to follow BOMBA requirement”…

Yeah, it was came out and quoted by Pengarah Bomba Negeri Terengganu, Pauzan Ahmad that the failures of Giant Hypermarket to be opened at Mesra Mall, Kemasik is due to the BOMBA requirement which yet to be full-filled. (see this, taken from Malaysiakini)

Ohhh… after so long, that was it… small reason/matter for me compared to the losing by Giant in this one-month period. BUT it’s quite funny due to several reason below :

  • Giant Failed to follow the requirement after established so many stores Malaysia-wide.According to their website, The chain currently comprises of more than 90 Giant hypermarkets and supermarkets in all major towns and suburbs.
  • If the BOMBA problem, then the developer also has to play a part on this and not only the Giant.
  • How can Architect/ID for the project failed to adhere to BOMBA requirement (i believe Suria KLCC or Giant has appointed the good one)
  • From my experience during my uni. day (study UBBL) and dealing with By-Laws, the requirement for such a Big Public Area but with single storey structure are less difficult and i believe the owner will not compromised compared to ‘mati ca’cang’ for not been able to operate in a month period.
  • Giant will not dare to put everyhing in the racks or shelves and ready to be opened anytime if they are yet to fill statutory requirement.
and the above list could be continued if we wanted to think negatively… like how can others can be operated, not Giant, KLCC is such a big developer and will not do this ( to go short-cut by failing to follow requirement) and so on…
So, as one of the Kerteh folks, let hope that this matter would be resolved by all parties for GOOD. InsyaAllah

(I was there behind VVIP (as i was invited as VIP……………… hehehe) tried to shoot few peektures with PDA coz i left my DSLR in my car)

MESRA MALL shopping complex on  Friday opened its doors to shoppers in the Kerteh which was dubbed at Petroleum Hub in Peninsular Malaysia. The shopping center which was built on a sprawling 30 acres site, “Mesra Mall” promises to be a new landmark for shoppers and tourists coming to Terengganu. With Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd managing the operations, the complex is developed by KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd through its two subsidiaries — Metro Kemasik Sdn Bhd and KLCC Projek Sdn Bhd.

For me who has the chance to see the early days of the development during Ground Breaking Ceremony till the Opening Ceremony, this is quite historical project which have involved great determination from the developer and KLCC parent company. ie PETRONAS. This Mesra Mall will serve the people around here and particularly PETRONAS Staff who currently spending their weekend in Kuantan. Mesra Mall floor area is 310,151 sq.ft and serves the people with its One-Stop Leasure, Shopping, Recreational concept.

The shop lot is almost full and its comprises of 40 retail outlets, 12 unit food stalls (in one food-court, 2 restaurant/cafe, 2 banks, and 2 push-cart stalls. The main or anchor tenant is Giant (Hypermarket) and Giant (Supermarket) but unfortunately during Opening Ceremony, its yet to be opened to public.

There are also Futsal Court, Cinema, Bowling Alley, Squash Court to be opened within a month ( as per KLCC CEO welcoming speech) and Mesra Mall also was built with approx. 800 pax Multi-Purpose hall. CEO of KLCC also added that this complex would serve as a catalyst for commercial development in Kemaman district and in Terengganu, adding that it had provided jobs for about 500 locals.

Eventhough with the recent development brought by PETRONAS in Kerteh, it is still Kerteh as we always know and by comparing with MIri which is also Petroleum Hub in Sarawak, then we realise that Kerteh is still far behind as Miri was declares as a CITY 2 or 3 years ago. But nevertherless MESRA MALL quite a blessing to PETRONAS Staff especially who has been transfered from KLCC which well known for it’s ‘Canggih-Manggih’ Suria KLCC.

But sincerely for me … nothing change except may be I have the chance to have a RM 8.00 burger as my lunch there at Burger King or my quite little time with my lady in future to be opened Mini Cinema.

Note — BTW, TQ KLCC and PETRONAS for this….
