A Particle of Boredom

A big congratulation to PETRONAS who jumped from 121 place to remarkable 95th place in this year FORTUNE 500 Global Companies . The other astounding result is Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) for the first time ever , be a number one in Asia and number eight in the World in terms of most profitable companies in this year’s Fortune Global 500 list.

Wow! this is one big achievement for PETRONAS to beat Asia superpower like Honda, Toyota and many more.

Of the 20 most profitable companies in the world, Petronas ranked 8th, jumped  10 steps from last year list with the profit of USD 18,118.4 Billions  which is 40.9 % extra from previous financial year. The national oil company, which posted revenue growth of 29.9 % to USD66,218.2 Bil for the year ended March 31, also moved up two places as Asia’s 16th largest corporation in this year’s list.

Retail giant Wal-Mart Stores maintained the top spot on the Global 500 on revenue of US$379 bil, making it the largest company in the world for the sixth time in seven years, Fortune said.  Under the petroleum refining industry, ExxonMobil took the top spot followed by Royal Dutch Shell in second place and BP  third.

And if you’re out there still wonder how significant the result to PETRONAS as Malaysia Company is : Please read below notes;

• Petronas still and the only one company from Malaysia listed in Global Fortune 500.
• If Petronas is coming from Australia (let say that if PETRONAS registered there), Petronas is no 1 company or the biggest company in Australia.
• If you may think that Britain is a developed country (or kita Malaysia is a third world country) lead us in many ways, can you imagine that PETRONAS should be one of the Top 10 Biggest company there.
• India is world most developing country together with China but none of their home company bigger than PETRONAS.
• Singapore,  who always think that they are better than Malaysia but the biggest singaporean company is almost 200 places below PETRONAS.. hahahaaa
